Edits, Cover Reveal, ARCs, Prices

We’re a few steps closer to the next book release! Meanwhile, Book 1 gets a permanent price drop!

It’s been a while. I’ve been busy. Nothing new there.
Let’s get down to the good stuff!

Update on the editing process

I'm happy to announce that Book 2 in the Order of the Spirits series, titled Order of the Spirits: Initiation, has been officially and professionally edited through and through—all 174.000 words accounted for! The editing process wasn’t without its hardships, but it elevated the narrative of this book beyond my expectations, and I’m very proud of the work we’ve done. Prepare yourself for one hell of a ride with this book…

The cover art reveal

Speaking of things that I’m proud of, the cover art for Book 2 is also done! Cris did an amazing job yet again, and… you know what—just check it out!

‘Nuff said, am I right?

The remaining steps

So, with the cover and the editing done, what’s left? Why not publish Initiation immediately? Well, with this much care and effort already put into it, I don’t want to rush this book and release it without having it proofread first. Yes, the editing was in-depth, but the proofreading process is that final touch that polishes everything, and that’s what I want—I want this book to be the best it can be, and I want readers to get a quality product. To satisfy those standards, I’ll also have to brush on my book formatting skills and prepare everything for print and digital release.

So yeah, there are still a couple of steps left before Order of the Spirits: Initiation is ready for the general public. However, it might be ready for review copies much sooner…

The advance review copies

Since the review copies are often available in advance, well before the manuscript is 100% clean, proofreading isn’t as important here. Meaning, if you’re interested in an early copy of Order of the Spirits: Initiation and are willing to forgive potential typos, you might be in luck! The review copies will be digital only, but free of charge in exchange for an honest review on Amazon and/or Goodreads once the book is out.

I’ll have more details on this ARC campaign in the following days, but if you’re interested, make sure you're subscribed to my newsletter! That way, you’ll be notified once I have everything ready to start rolling.

Price drop for Book 1

Another cool announcement: The e-book version of Order of the Spirits: Fragments is now available for $0.99 for the US market, and whatever the lowest price Amazon allows for the other markets! You can also expect the same prices for Initiation once it’s out.

Why the price change? To be perfectly candid, due to various fees and international constraints, I’d have to be selling thousands of copies just to recuperate my initial investment into these books. That’s not realistic—especially with no savings left to put into marketing. So, I figured, if I ain’t earning money, at least I can make it so my readers don’t have to spend much money.

The paperback version of Fragments was already priced near the minimum, so the price for the paperback remained the same.

My next course of action?

Prepare the ARC campaign. Hire a proofreader. Go broke. Format the book. Wait an eternity for proof copies. Publish!

All in all, this rather simple process might last a month, or two. Or three… Your guess is as good as mine, but hey! No matter the case, Order of the Spirits: Initiation is happening and it’s going to be awesome!

In the meantime, take care,
and go grab a copy of Fragments if you haven’t already!
